Tefera has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of management, accounting, finance, and taxation. Most of his tax accounting experience, primarily in the area of sophisticated financial instruments, he gained from his tenure with the State of Illinois Department of Revenue and with the IRS Financial Products Specialists division. Dr. Beyene teaches accounting, finance, and economics courses as an adjunct Professor for several universities. In addition, he is the Chief International Resource Trainer, Examiner, and Nominator for Africa and North America for the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM), providing training in all areas of finance, accounting, and economics.
Dr. Beyene earned his PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences concentrating in Accounting and he also holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a double concentration in Accounting and Finance. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia (Washington, DC). Tefera's credentials include the AAFM Certified Chartered Economist and Chartered Wealth Management certifications, as well as the Credit Business Associate certification from the National Association of Credit Management (NACM).
